About Homeopathy
The principles of homeopathy date back to Hippocrates and the beginnings of medicine. Homeopathy was developed over 200 years ago by a German doctor called Samuel Hahnemann.
It is based on the principle of "like cures like" - the idea that a substance which can produce certain symptoms in a healthy person can also stimulate the healing mechanisms to alleviate those same symptoms in someone who is unwell. This concept derived from the Greek word "homoios" meaning "similar" and "pathos" meaning suffering forms the philosophical foundations of homeopathic treatment.
The human body is an incredible, self regulating system, constantly striving to maintain balance and equilibrium. However, various stresses and imbalances we encounter in our daily lives can overwhelm and weaken our immune defences. Perhaps you experienced an accident, trauma or shock or you just can't get over an illness. When this happens, the body works tirelessly to restore that vital homeostasis, which can cause further complications on a mental, emotional or physical level. This is where homeopathic remedies come into play. It gently nudges the system back into balance by stimulating the body's innate healing abilities. It can unblock where you might feel stuck and allow you to move forward and heal.
